Profile Maritime Informatics

As a specialization of the computer science study course, maritime informatics is interdisciplinary designed and can be studies with the focuses marine biology or marine technology. In addition to a fundamental understanding of marine biology or marine technology and aquaculture (as subsidiary subject) the focus is on maritime applications of computer science. This education profile is implemented by combining subsidiary subject, lectures in the compulsory optional field of computer science and application-oriented project work. Special practical training (e.g. at the Leibniz Institute of Baltic Sea Research, at the Fraunhofer Institute for Marine Biotechnology or at the Fraunhofer IGD) or stays abroad (e.g. at the World Maritime University in Malmö) complete the offer.
