Domain: Computational Biology
Overview
Computational biology aims to describing biological systems or processes that allow machine analysis by formal methods. The endeavor to better understand biological systems or processes are in the focus of this research. The model development aims to identify relevant correlations of the modeled system towards an optimum description of the biological process in the end. In addition to the model development, the implementation and interpretation of simulation studies play a significant role. Methodological works cover the development of modelling languages and implementation algorithms and the realization of suitable software.
