The compulsory elective field with a scope of 42 credit points includes the fields „Electrical engineering“ (18 credit points), „Computer science“ (18 credit points) and the supplementary compulsory optional field (6 credit points).

The compulsory elective field „Electrical engineering“ serves to acquire in-depth, research-oriented knowledge of information technology from an electrical engineering perspective. The modules that can be selected here are based on signal and system theory. Offered Bachelor modules can be chosen with a maximum of 12 credit points, provided they have not already contributed to the completion of the Bachelor's degree.

The compulsory elective field „Computer science“ serves to acquire in-depth research-oriented knowledge of technical computer science from the perspective of computer science. The computer science modules that can be selected here deal with data processing in technical systems.

For the supplementary compulsory optional field, a non-selected module from the compulsory elective field „Electrical engineering“ or the compulsory elective field „Computer science“ with a scope of 6 credit points can be chosen. The supplementary elective field serves to form a focus within the framework of information technology in the direction of electrical engineering or computer science.
