Geoinformatics are dedicated to the development and application of computer science methods and concepts to spatial questions. Joint key aspect of geoinformatics is the special reference. The knowledge gained from this result into the technology of geo information systems (GIS). In addition to the information system field, knowledge from the fields sensor systems and geo visualization are taught. Independent from the special application field in the environmental sector, computer scientists acquire deepened knowledge in modelling, processing and analysis of spatial data that are also important in other fields of application.
